Chutes and Ladders
Chutes and Ladders is a board game for ages 3+, and costs $7.99. In this game the player wants to reach the top of the game by taking ladders, and evading chutes/slides. You play this game by rolling dice to move, and you want to land on ladders, and not chutes because chutes take you down spaces and ladders take you spaces up. You want to achieve victory by reaching the top, and not falling to the bottom of the board. The complexity is very simple, more complex than candyland, but less complex than sorry.
This game is considered fun because like Candyland it is quite simple, and so outwardly enjoyable because it is not as intense. Also it is quite more competitive than candyland, which adds a whole new element of fun into it, but still keeps some of the random aspects such as dice. Also it is child based in its color scheme and also supplies a happy, cartoony feel. Also this game can be just as fun to adults because of the motor concepts and an "all or nothing approach" That is craved by older crowds (why dark souls is not played by children).

Candyland
Candyland is made for preschoolers (so ages 4+) and costs $4. This game is about reaching a candy kingdom by rolling the dice and moving spaces while obeying card commands. You play this game by rolling and moving along the spaces in order to achieve victory by reaching the candy kingdom and the candy king. The rules are super easy and practically anyone can play this.
What is fun about this game is that the simplicity of it allows fun interaction over it. Since it does not divert extreme attention, many people enjoy it. Also, the randomness of it is entertaining and the vibrant colors produce happy feelings and emotions. Children love this game because of the sense of accomplishment this game provides, and the carefree, lightweight ideals produced.

Sorry!
Sorry! is a board game for ages 6+ and costs $13.75. Sorry! is a game in which players are attempting to nest 4 of their pieces in the home place by circling around the board. You move in this game by drawing cards which tell you how to move. There are slide like color lines on the board that let you slide on them if you are opposite of the color. Victory is achieved by getting all 4 pawns into the home space. This is the most complex of the games compared here, but overall in the grand scheme of things Sorry! is not a really complex game.
This game is fun because of the overall competitiveness, separating this game above the Candyland and Chutes and Ladders in terms of intensity, because more strategy is applied by picking which pawn to move, and on 7's choosing which pawns to split the move with. However the retro color scheme adds to the intensity of this game because it feels more adultish compared with Candyland and Chutes and ladders.
